Evangelism: Use Short Videos

Many churches post videos of sermons or Bible classes that last anywhere from about 30 minutes to an hour plus. These are well and good. Churches should continue to post this “long-form” content that allows for a greater amount of information, details, and application.

There is a place for short videos as well. These may be 1-3 minutes long. They can either be a “teaser” that points to a deeper study of a subject or passage or simply a quick point.

For instance, a one-minute video might state that baptism is essential to salvation with one or two references to Scripture with a closing remark of “If you want more, go to our website” and give a specific page (i.e. https://wordandsword.com/baptism).

This type of short-form content is more likely to be viewed by people. Also, on certain platforms it can be promoted for wide exposure in your area.

Uses of short videos also include promoting a special series, gospel meetings, classes, personal studies, podcasts, and more.

The costs per view can be as little as 6 cents. So, it is worth experimenting with.
